Team Spotlight: Lucy Babin, Sales Director
Meet Lucy Babin, Sales Director at Get Covered, on helping operators move beyond tool fatigue, the AI build vs. buy conversation, and why trust and responsiveness win in sales.

At Get Covered, our team is made up of people who understand the challenges operators are facing and care deeply about helping them solve those challenges in a meaningful way. For Lucy Babin, Sales Director, that sense of impact is what first drew her to Get Covered and what continues to keep her excited about the work.
When Lucy began her sales career in tech, it was important to her to represent something that made a real, positive difference in the day-to-day lives of the partners she worked with. After meeting the Get Covered team and hearing customer case studies, she quickly saw the immediate impact the platform could have for operators across risk, NOI, resident experience, and daily operations.
“That impact, and the people behind the product, keeps me excited,” Lucy shared. “We have a genuinely talented and smart team, which makes it fun to show up every day.”
For Lucy, being surrounded by a team she can learn from has been one of the most rewarding parts of her experience at Get Covered.
“I’ve always believed you never want to be the smartest person in the room, and at Get Covered I get to work with a group I learn something from constantly.”
Helping Operators Move Beyond Tool Fatigue
In her conversations with prospects, one of the biggest challenges Lucy hears about is tool fatigue.
Over the years, operators have adopted a wide range of products to help solve specific problems. While many of those tools are valuable on their own, they often operate in silos and do not connect cleanly with the rest of the tech stack. That fragmentation can create a lack of data transparency, added manual work for already-stretched teams, and revenue quietly leaking through the gaps between systems.
Get Covered helps operators address that challenge by bringing six of the tools they rely on most into a single connected platform.
“The result is full transparency, less manual work for their teams, and recaptured revenue that a fragmented stack was costing them,” Lucy said.
By centralizing key risk and compliance workflows, Get Covered gives operators a clearer view of what is happening across their portfolios while reducing the burden on their teams.
The AI Build vs. Buy Conversation
When asked about the biggest trend shaping multifamily today, Lucy points to the growing “build vs. buy” conversation around AI.
While there is broad agreement that AI will play an important role in improving operational efficiency, many operators are still determining how to execute effectively. Some are evaluating what they can build internally, while others are looking to specialized vendors that bring deeper industry experience, stronger integrations, and larger proprietary datasets.
“Operators are actively weighing what they can build in-house against what specialized vendors deliver with deeper experience and larger datasets,” Lucy explained.
As technology becomes easier to build, basic point solutions are no longer enough. Lucy believes the operators who are thoughtful about how they both build and buy their tech stacks will be best positioned for long-term success.
“Ultimately, the operators who buy and build their tech stacks effectively will be the winners,” she shared. “For vendors, success means delivering deep integrations and proprietary data that become irreplaceable over time.”
Building Trust Through Relationships
For Lucy, success in sales starts with genuine excitement about building relationships.
She believes that trust and rapport will take someone farther than any pitch, and that responsiveness is one of the clearest ways to earn that trust. Whether a partner has a question, needs support, or is ready to move forward, being available and engaged can make all the difference.
“Trust and rapport will take you farther than any pitch, and responsiveness is how you earn it,” Lucy said. “When a partner has a question or is ready to move, being the one who’s actually there to talk moves the deal forward and earns the referral.”
That relationship-first mindset is a key part of how Lucy approaches her work with operators and partners.
Life Outside of Work
Outside of work, Lucy finds energy in the outdoors. More than three years ago, she and her family traded big-city life for Bend, Oregon, a smaller mountain town with easy access to nature.
After a week of work travel, being outside is one of Lucy’s favorite ways to recharge. Whether she is playing outside with her 9-month-old, heading up to the mountain to snowboard, getting out on the river to paddleboard, or taking in the views on a hike, the outdoors is an immediate reset.
“Being outside is an immediate energizer for me,” Lucy shared.
From helping operators navigate complex challenges to building strong, trusted relationships, Lucy brings energy, insight, and a people-first approach to the Get Covered team. We’re proud to spotlight her and the impact she continues to make.
